Oh Norman

En route to one of my brother's lacrosse games a few days ago my father and I drove through Stockbridge, Massachusetts, home of the Norman Rockwell Museum and little else.

My father, who actually grew up in 1950s Levittown, knew several people who posed for Rockwell. He told me that Rockwell usually would pay his models by check, knowing they were unlikely to cash them because they bore his signature.
